FAQ

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Little Sky Eyes Foundation Grants Committee to determine eligibility and assess the impact the requested funding may have on the child and family.

In some cases, we may contact you to request additional information or supporting documentation to assist with the assessment process.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via email.

Where possible, the Little Sky Eyes Foundation will pay suppliers directly. In some circumstances, reimbursement may be considered at the Foundation's discretion.

We aim to assess applications and notify families of outcomes within 4-8 weeks of the grant round closing date.

Successful applicants will generally have 12 months from the date of approval to utilise the funding. Extensions may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

While we carefully review every application received, the Little Sky Eyes Foundation is unable to provide individual support coordination or assistance with applications to other funding bodies.

We encourage families to explore available supports through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), hospital social workers, community organisations, and other charitable grant programs that may be relevant to their circumstances.

The Little Sky Eyes Foundation understands that some families face significant challenges and urgent needs.

However, we are not an emergency relief or crisis support service and are unable to provide immediate funding assistance outside of our advertised grant rounds.

If your situation is urgent, we encourage you to contact your treating hospital, social worker, support coordinator, local community services, or relevant emergency support services.

The Foundation cannot fund every request received.

Please refer to our Grant Guidelines for a full list of eligible and ineligible items and services before submitting your application.

If you need assistance with your application, we recommend:

  • Reading the Grant Guidelines carefully before applying;
  • Speaking with your child's paediatrician, neurologist, therapist, or other treating specialist;
  • Asking a support coordinator, social worker, family member, or friend to assist you;
  • If there is nobody to help you, please contact the Foundation if you require further guidance.

We understand that completing applications can feel overwhelming, and we are committed to making the process as accessible as possible.
